Description

The Jubilee Academy is an Alternative Provision Secondary School for students aged 11 to 16 years, with a capacity for 85 students. The School have been in full occupation of the building since September 2016.

The tiled roof covering to Jubilee Academy is around 30-35 years old and now at the end of its design life. As such, the roof covering is proposed to be fully replaced to achieve a 25 year warranty for the works and materials.

The re-roofing works are to include replacing all roof tiles with a suitable tile of similar loadings and aesthetics. The works may also include replacing sections of any rotten / broken timber battens, replacement sections of collapsed or broken gutters and fascias, and cleaning out of RWP's to ensure they discharge efficiently. The works should also include a temporary roof over the entire building.

Scaffolding with safe access to roof level will needed, and it is envisioned that scaffolding platforms will be designed to accommodate all materials and equipment at roof level, with a small secure area at street level to accept both new and waste materials.

It is intended to use single stage procurement and is not envisioned planning will be required if the tiles are replaced like for like. The form of contract will be JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2016 with Contractor's Design.

Appointment of contractor will be on the basis of the criteria to be published in the tender documents, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: Qualitative assessment 40% / Quantitative assessment 60%.
