Description

Longrock Coastal Protection Scheme comprises several different elements of work that together are intended to provide coastal defence improvements, flood resilience and improved habitat areas.

As part of a wider water level management plan for the area, it is proposed to make alterations to the existing culvert outfall from Marazion Pool. Part of the alterations will include installing a water level management device in front of the culvert, which will allow the water level within the pool to be raised by approximately 600mm when required.

This tender is intended to obtain the design, supply and construction services for those works associated with the water level management facilities outlined in paragraph 1.15 of the Culvert and Water Level Management Brief:

• A weir wall capable of maintain a normal operating water level of 2.50m AOD.
• A penstock (or other water level management device), capable of draining down the marsh from the proposed operating water level of 2.40m AOD to its current water level of 1.85m AOD.
• A new trash screen designed to facilitate the new weir wall and water level management device, including suitable maintenance access to both.

The Scope and Objectives are contained and detailed in the Culvert and Water Level Management Brief, as well as the Site Designations and Conditions, which will be sent upon receipt of expression of interest.
This project has been part-financed by grant funding from the European Regional Development Fund, and Wren, and will be subject to conditions imposed by the funding bodies. Suppliers will be expected to comply with the relevant requirements and any associated regulations such as procurement, publicity, and eligibility criteria.
