Description
The Health Education England (HEE) Events Centre at Stewart House, University of London is a dedicated centre for events and meetings, with 30 purpose-built rooms, open spaces, an auditorium and other facilities which from time to time require a high quality, affordable and compliant service to provide sandwich lunches, salads, cold buffets and other catering services.
The Events Centre supports the commissioning and delivery process for recruiting, educating and training doctors, nurses and other clinicians in the London region and nationally, and its activities include recruitment programmes, professional reviews, training courses, workshops, conferences, business meetings and executive committees.
The Catering Service will include the provision of catering for a variety of these events, for HEE and NHS staff. Other types of periodic events may also take place from time to time and require catering services - e.g. open days, private parties, etc.
The supplier will need to be flexible, and offer an "out of hours" service as well as during normal events centre opening hours which are detailed in section 3.
HEE's expectations for delivering the catering services are:-
• To deliver consistently high standards of attractively presented and nourishing food that reflects the cultural needs of event delegates.
• To ensure that all relevant legislation and best practice are adhered to at all times.
• To operate risk-assessed food safety procedures.
• To manage costs without compromising quality
• To procure ingredients in a consistently sustainable way and minimise waste
The supplier must be able to demonstrate:
• High level of experience in the provision of buffet services in similar environments.
• Financial robustness - evidence of this will be checked via a Dun and Bradstreet report.
• Innovation, creativity and flexibility delivering the service throughout
• A considerable degree of professionalism in line with the image of the Events Centre.
• Professional menus for display and marketing purposes branded to HEE's specification (ie excluding supplier branding).
• A wide range of catering service options, including options for special dietary requirements such as Kosher and Halal.
• Excellent value for money whilst maintaining high quality.
• Sustainable policies and practices.
Health Education England intend to hold a Market Engagement Event at 11:00 on Wednesday 17th October 2018 to enable potential Bidders to visit the site to obtain a further understanding of the site logistics and the requirements of HEE.
Interested parties should complete and return this document through the portal as correspondence by 12 noon on Friday 12th October 2018.
