Description

This project aims to investigate the concept of Cultural Heritage for Inclusive Growth in the UK context, using an inclusive empirical approach grounded in a robust conceptual and data driven analysis. The project will seek to use best practice case studies to demonstrate the multitude of ways in which heritage can contribute to inclusive outcomes for individuals and communities.

The proposed research project is commissioned by Historic England as part of a wider partnership programme with the British Council. Historic England is the government's expert advisory service for England's historic environment. We give constructive advice on the historic environment to local authorities, owners and the public. We champion historic places helping people to understand, value and care for them, now and for the future.

The British Council is the UK's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. British Council create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries, which includes more than 100 countries across the world in the fields of arts and culture, English language, education and civil society.
