Description
The Council invites quotations for the provision of the design and fit out of the library in Cherry Hinton Hub.
Cherry Hinton Library, High Street, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge, CB1 9HZ
Replacing Cherry Hinton Library, the hub will be a new joint venture between the County library service, City Council and local community benefit society. The building will contain meeting rooms, a community café, gardens (all out of scope of this work) as well as the county library offer (in scope of this tender).
The Council is working with a number of local partners as part of the wider project to bring the whole building, the library is situated in, and the Council is keen to ensure that this procurement strengthens these links, and caters for all needs not just the library's requirement. The Council's main partners in the wider project are: local district council and local community group.
In light of this, the Council is looking to instruct a supplier to initially provide designs and fit out/furniture for the Library, with an option if require to fulfil the furniture requirements of other parts of the building. The option for the additional furniture will be taken up within 12 months of the award of the contract, though the successful bidder should be aware there is no guarantee.
The value of this procurement will be £40,000 for the library designs and fit out/furniture, and an estimate furniture requirement of up to an additional £40,000.
This work is primarily library specific fixtures and fittings alongside a designed layout. We are seeking design to help ensure the building is constructed with suitable M&E to meet the needs of a design.
Library fixtures and fittings will include Shelving, seating, staff and customer workstations but Not any hardware, IT equipment power, data or lighting. The core procurement is for the library space
