Description
1.2 This research and project activity will assist our boroughs in shaping central London's green recovery. There are two distinct aims:
- To work with Central London Forward's (CLF) boroughs to form a shared understanding and establish a definition of 'green jobs' and 'green skills' based on best practice that works in a central London context.
- To analyse current and future needs for green jobs and skills in central London using this definition. This will include four sections:
o Labour market - analysis of the green labour market in central London to identify green jobs, project the growth of these jobs over time, and to identify major employers. To identify the impact on existing jobs from a shift to a green economy and meeting the government's targets on net zero.
o Skills - Identifying the skills and qualifications needed for green jobs including the pathways into and through the sector and to identify what support residents may need to access the skills and training needed for green jobs.
o Economic value - Analysis of the value of central London green sectors, jobs and skills to the UK and London's economy and its projected growth.
o Equalities impact - Understanding the impact of a shift towards the green economy through an equalities lens. It should identify groups that are less represented within the green economy and consideration of the green economy can be made as inclusive as possible. This should include but not be limited to consideration of protected characteristics as defined within the Equalities Act 2010.
