Description

Sheffield Children and Young People's Autism and ADHD assessment service - request for additional capacity
Prior Information Notice (PIN)
Following a significant increase in demand and length of waiting list for autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people (up to the age of 16) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire ICB (Sheffield Place) are looking to outsource some of this activity to more providers in order to help increase capacity and meet some of this additional demand. You are invited to submit an expression of interest if you would like to be considered as a provider to deliver any of this activity.
The current service is delivered by Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and this contract will remain in place.
We are looking for additional providers to deliver up to 300 assessments per month over a timescale to be agreed.
To register your interest, please submit the following information:
• What is your current waiting time for assessment?
• What capacity are you able to provide (i.e. how many assessments over what period)?
• What format do your assessments take - e.g. in person, online, combination of both, how long are they?
• If your assessments are in person, please state the location where the assessments take place.
• Do you assess for autism and ADHD together or separately?
• Which professional group(s) undertake your assessments? E.g. paediatricians, speech and language therapists, psychologists etc.?
• Are your assessments compliant with NICE guidelines?
• What are your referral/access/exclusion criteria? E.g. do you need certain information/pre-assessments in order to accept referrals? Do you only assess certain age groups?
• Do you provide any ongoing follow up or support to children and families following diagnosis?
• Do you accept right to choose referrals or just private?
• Would you consider outsourcing further assessments?
