Description

Based on the Royal Derby Hospital site, the Radbourne Unit is Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's main inpatient service for patients with acute mental health needs. The Radbourne Unit consists of four adult acute inpatient wards - Ward 33, Ward 34, Ward 35, Ward 36 and Ward 32, an enhanced care ward (ECW).
The works comprise:
- Full kitchen refurbishments of two impatient ward kitchens, one of which is the Enhanced Care Ward (high risk environment)
- Removal of all kitchen units including all stainless steel worktops and sink units
- Disconnection and rationalisation of all pipework throughout
- Freezing of pipe work for safe radiator removal
- New security metal ceilings including all anti vandal/ligature light fittings
- Boxing/ IPS works, high quality commercial kitchen fitting including sloping tops to wall hung units and stainless steel fitting
- Whiterock cladding works to walls & splashbacks
- M&E works associated with new installs including all kitchen equipment
- Removal of fire dampers & making good works throughout.
Potential tendering contractors must be able to demonstrate significant experience of working within a mental health hospital environment.
