Description

Beyond Housing requires sub-contractor to deliver the completion of a tree survey across all non-domestic open spaces it owns.
Beyond Housing requires an inspection to manage tree stock to British Standard BS5837- 2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction, or equivalent.
Beyond Housing are looking to create a database that assesses the current risks posed by tree stock and establish an effective management regime. Young and small trees should not be included unless deemed to present a particular risk.
o A tree survey must include the following elements as a minimum,
o A topographical survey showing the exact locations of the tree/s using GIS software.
o A schedule to the survey that includes the following:
o A reference number for each tree or group to be recorded on the tree survey plan
o Species listed by common name
o The approx. height
o The stem diameter measured in accordance with Annex C of BS 5837:2012
o The branch spread at four cardinal points
o Existing height above ground level of the first significant branch and canopy
o Life stage (e.g. young, semi-mature, early mature, mature, over-mature)
o General observations, particularly of structural and/or physiological condition
o The removal/retention category U or A to C grading (see 4.5 and table 1 and 2 of BS 5837:2012)
o An estimate of remaining contribution in years (<10, 10+, 20+, 40+)
o The preliminary management recommendations
o A Tree Constraints Plan
o An Arboriculture Implication Assessment
o A Tree Protection Plan
o Arboriculture Method Statements where necessary

The report must also give a clear indication of additional factors affecting tree growth or potential conflicts e.g. building proximity, electrical installations / cabling etc.
