Description

The University of Southampton is constructing new facilities, and part of this development effort is the update of experimental facilities.
This Invitation to Tender addresses one of the requirements, namely a new Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel (BLWT) designed as a flexible test platform for novel aerodynamics and fluid mechanics research work and experimental technique.
The wind tunnel will be installed in a newly constructed building at the University of Southampton's campus. The new building is known as Building 185.
This procurement aims to identify a Contractor to design, manufacture, deliver, install, test and commission the BLWT in accordance with the requirements and performance criteria detailed within the Invitation to Tender document set.

The University is utilising an electronic tendering tool (In-Tend: https://in­tendhost.co.uk/ universityofsouthampton) to manage this procurement and to communicate with participating organisations.
All documentation in relation to this tender can be downloaded from In­Tend.
Participating organisations are advised that there will be no hard copy documents issued to organisations and all communications with the University including the submission of Invitation to Tender responses will be conducted via In-Tend.
Regular monitoring of In-Tend is the responsibility of the participating organisation.
If you are not already registered as a supplier with the University of Southampton, you will need to register in In-Tend in order to access the Invitation to Tender documentation.
