Description

THE PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTS BELOW ARE READ ONLY. DO NOT USE TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT TENDER. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST TO ACCESS THE PROCUREMENT DOCUMENTS TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT. ONLY APPLICANTS WHO HAVE REGISTERED AN INTEREST WILL RECEIVE UPDATE NOTIFICATIONS. The Authority is seeking an experienced events company with a proven track record and understanding of air show type events to raise funds to deliver a minimum two (2) day Air Show Event in Torbay over a weekend in June 2016 and, if successful, subsequent years 2017, 2018 & 2019. The event is expected to be supported by at least 150,000 visitors across the two days of the event and, if similar to Weston-Super-Mare, Bournemouth, Dawlish and Eastbourne Air Shows, attendance could be much higher. The Air Show is expected to be the largest event delivered in Torbay in terms of visitor numbers in recent years. The Authority has secured a start up fund of £60,000 from the Coastal Communities Fund. This funding must bring in at least five million pounds (£5,000,000) in new business and spending to the economy of Torbay through the event. The event must be sustainable year after year. The remaining £100,000 required to provide the Air Show must be raised by the events company and fully paid to the Authority no later than one month in advance of the Air Show taking place. The expectation is that, if successful in 2016, the air show will take place every year in Torbay and be self-funding. Therefore a start up fund of £50,000 for the Air Show Event for 2017 must be fully paid to the Authority no later than one month after the Air Show Event for 2016 has taken place. The remaining balance required to provide the Air Show for 2017 must be raised by the events company and fully paid to the Authority no later than one month in advance of the Air Show taking place in 2017. The cost of the 2017 Air Show will be confirmed when known. The above fund raising model will be repeated for the subsequent years. A Tender will be issued shortly for the provision of an air show consultant to provide aircraft over the weekend with a timetable.
