RSSB is planning to commission research to develop an outline strategy, for the migration to Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) from Global System for Mobile Communications - Railway (GSM-R), to act as a starting point that identifies key stakeholders, GB specific challenges and opportunities, and key milestones laying the groundwork for a more detailed, phased roadmap that will follow.
