Description

Workington Town Council is seeking quotes for the Restoration Works to a historic Pit Head in Workington. Jane Pit is registered as a Scheduled Monument and requires sympathetic restoration to maintain the structure as a ruin, whilst keeping it structurally sound for the health and safety of the public. The cost of the works will be partly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and for that reason the quote for these works must be received by 5pm on 31 August 2017.

A structural survey of the site has raised issues with masonry loss, loss of timber lintels, shaling, spalling and cracking.

A full copy of the structural report is available upon request, quotes should be outlined in accordance to the works here identified.
