Description

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the national organisation that sets the standard for high-quality health and social care. We support health and social care professionals to ensure that the care they provide is of the highest quality and offers the best value for money. We produce authoritative, evidence-based guidance on the most effective ways to diagnose, treat and prevent disease and ill health, and we set Quality Standards which can be used to drive quality improvement in a particular area of care.
NICE are looking to procure an Identity Provider (IdP) and Federated Identity Service that provides secure authentication and authorisation for users who are eligible and are seeking access to online licensed information resources (such as bibliographic databases, e-journals and e-books) purchased for the NHS. This content could be purchased by individual Trusts, individual organisations, multiple organisations collectively (consortia), Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Local Education Training Boards and Health Education England, on behalf of some, or all, eligible staff.
Further information will be provided in the Invitation to Tender documents posted as part of the Contract Notice.
