Description

The A580 East Lancashire Road phase 1 scheme is part of Liverpool City Council's investment and maintenance programme to upgrade and enhance strategic routes within the City Counci'sl boundaries. The section of phase 1 under consideration is between its junctions with the B 5187 (Stopgate Lane) and the Showcase Cinema Retail Development (Approx. 1.7km in length)

The proposed works include:-
• Carriageway resurfacing
• Road Markings
• Installation of Loop Detectors
The objectives for this project are:-
• To improve road safety for both road users and the local community.
• To support regeneration in the area.

The Works Contract shall carry out the following:-

• Resurfacing along the A580 from Stopgate Junction to Showcase Cinema Junction
• New road markings and road studs.
• Installation of Loop Detectors at all junctions from Stopgate Junction to Showcase Cinema Junction.
