Read: We have taken the difficult but prudent decision to postpone the Virtual Industry Day until the next financial year (not before March 2021).
Two factors have led to the decision to rescind the PTESS PIN. Firstly, the British Army intended to design the PTESS system against the Future Protected Battlefield Ambulance (FPBFA). However, since publishing the PIN on DCO, the announcement of preferred bidder for the FPBFA is still awaited so, if project PTESS was initiated now, the FPBFA designs would not be available to design against. Secondly, Covid-19 delays have compressed the current PTESS schedule to 18 months, increasing risk to project delivery. In response to these factors, the British Army have decided to postpone project PTESS until not before March 2021. This will reset the delivery schedule onto a two year profile of research and development against the FPBFA design once preferred bidder is announced.
We apologise for any inconvenience this postponement may cause.
