Description
The purpose of the commission is to provide a robust and up to date evidence base and assessment of landscape sensitivity to inform the appropriate location of future development allocations. It will also advise on the use and extent of a policy designation to protect the character and setting of fringe settlements. The commission will comprise two main tasks:
- Task 1: Landscape sensitivity assessment to understand the resilience of local landscapes to accommodate development.
- Task 2: Fringe assessments to consider whether a spatial policy
designation is an appropriate approach to protect the character, identity and setting of fringe settlements.
