Description
The term contract will be for the supply of Arboricultural Services (pruning, felling and stump grinding) to Council managed trees within the London Borough of Ealing.
Contract Structure
The contract will contain five Lots described as follows:
Lot 1 Planned /Programmed Highways Arboricultural works for the West area of the borough (Estimated value £140,000 per annum)
Lot 2 Planned /Programmed Highways Arboricultural works for the Central area of the borough (Estimated value £180,000 per annum)
Lot 3 Planned /Programmed Highways Arboricultural works for the East area of the borough (Estimated value £140,000 per annum)
Lot 4 Planned /Programmed Parks and Housing Arboricultural works -Boroughwide
(Estimated value £190,000 per annum)
Lot 5 Emergency Call-Out service -Boroughwide (Estimated value £110,000 per annum)
• Reactive Works Instructions which are issued twice monthly with two week completion targets. This includes all manner of arboricultural works boroughwide.
• Urgent Arboricultural Works Instructions raised daily with a 24 hour to five-day completion target depending on risk factor.
Attracting Small Medium-sized Enterprise (SME)
The council intends to offer one contract under each LOT resulting in 5 contracts in total. This should attract both SMEs and larger organisations to bid due to the lower financial thresholds for each LOT required.
It is intended that Bidders will have the opportunity to bid for a maximum of 2 LOTS to allow more contractors to win resultant contracts.
Contract Length and Extensions
We are intending to establish a 2.5 year contract with two, 3 year extension to coterminnousley expire at the same time as the other Arboriculture Contracts that are already in place.
Pricing schedule
Pricing schedule will be in the form of Bill of Quantities and will be fixed for the duration of the contract. Opportunity to review prices will be undertaken prior to any extensions. The Council recognises that in these uncertain times, small businesses might be hesitant to enter into a long-term fixed price agreements; and for this reason, please provide how you feel changes could be made to address your concerns.
