Description

Colchester Borough Council, as lead authority for the North Essex Parking Partnership, is seeking a contractor to provide and remove road markings. These must meet all legal requirements to allow enforcement of the relevant traffic regulation orders, such as the Traffic Signs and General Directions 2016. The North Essex Parking Partnership manages on-street traffic regulation orders across Braintree, Colchester, Harlow, Epping Forest, Tendring and Uttlesford Districts and so the contractors must be able to work across all of these areas when required without council officer supervision.

The contractor will be required to undertake:

-The removal of road markings (using high pressure water jets and/or painting over)
-The laying of road markings using mechanical means
-The laying of road markings by hand

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The initial tender period will be for 11 months from 4th May 2021 to 31st March 2022, with the option to extend for a further 3 years (annually 1x1x1) until 31st March 2025. The annul spend does vary dependent on requirements but we estimate an annual spend of £120,000.00

The contract value cost is per annum and is based on the contract volumes provided but may change dependent on the requirement's of the Council
