Description

Low Cost Nuclear Evaluation Framework Implementation Supplier Briefing, held by UKRI on Thursday 28th July 2022 at 09:00 until 11:00.
The requirement will be advertised to supplier on the Crown Commercial Services DPS RM6126 Research & Insights, and you are encouraged to register for this DPS should you wish to bid for the requirement.

Background context

As one of the cornerstones of the UK Net Zero strategy, the Low Cost Nuclear programme is one of the largest programmes ever managed by Innovate UK. The goal of this programme is to facilitate the development of a new kind of nuclear power plant, one which can be build predominantly in a factory and rapidly deployed to a range of sites in the UK and internationally. These plants will use modular and advanced manufacturing techniques, and will utilise the best expertise from the UK nuclear industry to deliver electricity to the grid at a much lower cost than traditional nuclear plants and at a price which is comparable with renewable sources. With the commencement of a second phase of activities now well underway, the Challenge has reached a position whereby it needs to procure evaluation specialists with specific expertise in the nuclear and low carbon energy field in addition to research evaluation to produce a robust process evaluation and an interim and final impact evaluation which is based on the framework and baseline studies already completed. This briefing will outline the proposed project and timescales ahead of the formal launch of the tender in mid-August 2022.

The purpose of this event will be to:
Provide Supplier with an overview of the research context and provide details on the proposed methodologies, timescales, and deliverables.
Give suppliers the opportunity to ask questions about the project and provide feedback on the research scope, including its deliverability within the desired timeframe.

The supplier event will be held via Zoom. If you would like to attend, please email professionalservices@uksbs.co.uk labelled PS22194 Low Cost Nuclear Evaluation by 17:00 Wednesday 27th July 2022 to receive and invite.
