Description

Suitably qualified and experienced provider to co-ordinate, manage and provide medical support at Sunderland Airshow 2019 ('the Event') which is held in July 2019.

The purpose of the on-site medical support is to minimise the effects of the Event on the existing healthcare resources of the local area. By providing appropriate Event medical facilities on site, there should be minimal impact on local NHS ambulance services, primary care, GP and acute hospital provision. Where a patient cannot be cared for on site, the Provider will coordinate and liaise with the receiving hospital.The Provider must be experienced in delivering large scale events. The Provider must:

• Provide statutory advice and guidance to the Council, NHS England and Safety Advisory Group (SAG) pre-Event, to ensure the correct levels of medical provision and a regional medical plan to be invoked in the case of a major incident, can be determined and agreed for the Event.

• Co-ordinate all event medical requirements both pre and during the Event.

• Develop and manage an Event Medical Plan that is satisfactory for the purposes of the Event and satisfies all statutory criteria.

• Provide all necessary infrastructure to create a medical facility/facilities on the Event site.

• Secure and manage the agreed levels of medical support determined in the Event Medical Plan, including (though not limited to);

• Dedicated Ambulance support
• Paramedic support
• Emergency Care Practitioner (if required)
• Emergency Nurse Practitioner (if required)
• First Aid led provision
• Tactical and Operational Event Control representatives to coordinate provision and provide updates to the Event Tactical and Operational Leads. These roles will also liaise with local NHS Trusts in the Event of an incident that requires the transfer of patients from the Event site.
