Description
Grassland Hasmoor...Big Local (GHBL) has been awarded Big Lottery Funding to make Grassmoor and Hasland even better places to live. GHBL was created in January 2014 with a programme tenure of 10 years until 31st December 2023. It has been meeting as a constituted partnership since 2015.
Through its consultation within the local community GHBL has identified the priority to support the provision of youth work in Grassmoor. In response to this the Grassmoor and Hasland Children and Young People's Working Group was established, which has to date successfully focused on the delivery of summer activities to run at local parks during the summer holidays.
The Children and Young People's Working Group has recognised the demand for weekly youth provision and since April 2018 has supported a youth club for 8-11 year olds that has operated at the Grassmoor Methodist Church & Community Hub. The Working Group has successfully sourced funding for youth club equipment which will available to use through this commission.
North Eastern Derbyshire Business Developments (NEDBD) Limited is issuing this request for quotation on behalf of the GHBL Partnership in relation to the delivery of weekly Youth Provision in Grassmoor, at a minimum of two hours per session. The successful contractor will be expected to promote and deliver the service to young people of secondary school age (11 to 18) from Grassmoor, securing a local venue(s) from which to operate, train local volunteers to help with the delivery and long-term sustainability and provide pastoral support to the young people who identify this need.
