Description

Design of the new WFD.org (first established in 2000).
In a visually striking, fully accessible and engaging way, the new WFD.org will showcase:
-WFD's high-level campaigns
-What we do & how we work
-Our people
-Data about our impact, with live data integrated via Knack and PowerBi
-The geographical reach of our work
-The work of our offices around the world
-WFD publications and research (building on wfd.org/publications)
-WFD events
CORE will include:
-A detailed discovery/scoping and design phase facilitated by a single account manager from the winning supplier. This may run from April 2021 to completion for no less than 6 weeks. WFD will be supplied with detailed blueprints for the front-end and the back-end, and a set of mock-ups for the template. Consultation with several teams within WFD will take place, facilitated by the winning supplier. In addition, all information and assets will be mapped and prepared for migration
-The provision of a Content Management System (CMS) offering (minimum):
FRONT-END:
-Support for mobile device-optimised templates (i.e. mobile not an afterthought)
-Support for dynamic templates offering enhanced visual storytelling functions (including video), fully customisable from the back-end
-Templates optimised for both short form text content (blogs, news) and long form (publications)
-A flexible and high-performing events calendar integrated with Zoom/Teams registration
BACK-END:
-GOV.UK levels of security (including multi-factor authentication)
-Ability to delegate access to several editors (between 10 and 40)
-Ability to restrict delegated access to certain pages and functions
-A streamlined, intuitive interface, customised to be as user friendly as possible to facilitate a DIY approach to uploading content, particularly procurement and other programme documents, including: Enhanced text editor, customised to facilitate the edit of short-form and long-form text content
-The design bespoke, accessible and aesthetically pleasing templates to accommodate all the kinds of content WFD publishes
Migration of content from locations on the existing WFD.org to new locations on the new website, including adapting content to suit new templates
Search Engine Optimisation for the whole website
The construction of a fully accessible website, optimising templates and content to meet WFD's legal requirements under the Equality Act 2010 and the standards outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (known as WCAG 2.1) and fulfil all shortcomings identified on the current edition of WFD.org. The developer should also have an awareness of BS8878
The design of video guides and other suitable training and deployment materials for ongoing internal WFD use
