Description
Located to the south of the village centre, New Road Playing Field provides residents and visitors with a skate park, Pump Track, MUGA, running tracks, sports pitches, open space for exercise and leisure, combined with various pieces of play and exercise equipment.
The play equipment consists of a zip wire, wooden climbing multi-unit and two pieces of adult exercise equipment. The zip wire is in a good condition and was resurfaced in May 2022. The remaining equipment (three pieces) is in a poor state and needs removing and replacing. This tender document is related to the equipment which needs removing and replacing.
The scope of this project is to remove and dispose the current play equipment (including surfaces) and then supply and install new play equipment and surfaces.
Bidders must include the removal and disposal of all existing play equipment and any waste product generated during the duration of the project until the scope is complete.
We are looking to replace the three old pieces of equipment with three new pieces which will provide play facilities for residents and visitors of all ages.
All works should comply to the British and European Standard for playground equipment and surfacing BS EN 1176. The contractor will be responsible for organising an independent post-installation inspection and rectifying any issues identified at their own cost.
Bidders are allowed to submit a maximum of two different options to allow for design variations.
The Council has agreed a budget range of £45,000 - £75,000 (Ex VAT) for the project. All pricing should be exclusive of VAT and in GBP (£). Pricing should be valid for a minimum of 90 days from the due date of the response. Prices will be fixed for the duration of the contract.
The work needs to be completed by the end of November 2022.
