Description

The LGA would like to build an evidence base of what councils are doing to support people through the cost of living crisis.

The web-based resource will highlight councils taking a strategic whole systems approach to supporting residents with the rising cost of living, both with immediate hardship support, and on wider preventative measures that build longer term resilience.
We would, where possible, like to include information on the evidence base councils have used to drive their approach, and the outcomes they have achieved or hope to achieve.
The resource will highlight positive examples and promote information sharing and ideas generation. It will be hosted on the LGA website, alongside other examples of local and effective practice, and within other relevant publications.
The report will need to:

•Each case study should be 500 - 800 words each in length.

•16-18 case studies highlighting councils' strategic actions to address the rising cost of living crisis and inequalities in their areas.

•We would like case studies to cover a range of service and themes, to capture the broad and inter-connected range of support that councils and their partners are providing. Key areas include health, debt, financial inclusion and income maximisation, food insecurity, energy, housing, sustainability, partnerships with the voluntary sector, ways of identifying and supporting those in need.

•All case studies should demonstrate how the themes identified tie into the council's wider strategic approach to the rising cost of living and addressing inequalities.

•The above are suggestions and are to be finalised with the successful bidder.
• Include a foreword from an elected LGA member (tbc).

•We would also like you to provide a short, contextual introduction that can frame the case studies within the resource.

•The publication should give the wider context of health and socioeconomic inequalities in England, both before and during the crisis.

•The publication must comply with the LGA Style Guide, to be provided on award of contract.
