The system should provide fast (and safe) data transfer within the limits of the existing network infrastructure; fast data storage; enable efficient image processing and visualization (with third-party software packages); allow simple project and user administration; have a secure remote login for safe data access in national or international research collaborations, and operate under a Windows user interface that requires only minimal IT knowledge. The system should have a single or multiple CPUs with at least 36 cores and a minimum of 512 GB RAM, a high-end graphics card (≥16 GB VRAM), a 10 GB network module, and a storage capacity of 80 TB or more. The machine should have proven capability to run a variety of commercial and open-source imaging software; e.g., Huygens Pro, Imaris, Arivis Vison 4D, Aivia, Fiji/ImageJ, Ilastik, and OMERO.
