Description

The final date and time for the submission of bids is Friday 11th February 2022 at 11:00 AM.

Brief Description of Requirement:

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Office for Product Safety and Standards is the relevant Department responsible for Product Safety within the UK.

BEIS will carry out assessments and testing to determine the current levels of compliance in the toys sector in the UK in line with Product Safety requirements.

Tenders are invited for testing according to the requirements detailed below.

Testing requirements

To test a selection of toys to verify compliance with the following Regulations (and any amendments to these):

- Directive 2001/95/EC - General Product Safety Regulations
- Toys (Safety) Regulation 2011

The test methods applied should follow harmonised standards the reference numbers of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, or other reliable, accurate and reproducible calculation and measurement methods, which take into account the generally recognised state of the art.

**The Department is ideally looking for completion of all required testing by 31st March 2022 in alignment with the financial year end.

Whilst the completion of all testing is desired by 31st March 2022, there is a degree of flexibility for full completion of the scope, however the Department does require the completion of all testing to EN71-3 standard as a minimum within this timeframe.**

This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria as set out in the ITQ document.
