Description

The City of York Council is looking to award a grant for an organisation to support families with at least one child under six years old that may other wise be isolated and facing difficulty in accessing support. The organisation will provide support in situations such as loneliness, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or where families are in need of practical support. The service should provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support; help to build the family's confidence and ability to cope.

The provider will work with Local Area Teams and offer a clear route for Local Area teams to refer families into the service to support them in their own homes. This contract will encourage families with at least one child under six years old to widen their social network, gain confidence, and reduce their social isolation and access support services available within their local communities. Further information is contained within Section 2 - The Specification.
