Description

This Invitation to Tender (ITT), tender and the resultant Contract, is for the provision of a modern storage and distribution service for our publications, with an electronic ordering, invoicing and account management facility, and the supply to the British Library of financial information relating to these transactions in a fully downloadable format.

The Library is seeking a Publications Distribution Solution, which represents best practice and best value for money.

The distributor for British Library Publications is expected to be responsible for the following areas:-

• Order Receipt and Processing
• Invoicing and Order Management
• Customer Service
• Warehousing and Distribution
• Credit Control
• Statistics and Reporting

There are currently 150 titles published by The British Library which are in print, including a small number of backlist CDs. About 50 new print titles are published each year. Sales are made direct and through the trade, worldwide. In some cases, stockholding agents are used overseas, particularly in the US.

Our main consignment accounts are:-

• The British Library shop in St Pancras (up to one delivery per week).
• Amazon Advantage (frequent orders).
