Yapton Parish Council are seeking proposals for the refurbishment of the play area. Tenderer are required to to submit a design to the value of £100,000 plus an additional £10000 for landscaping.

The play area is well located within a growing community close to local shops, village hall and the King George V playing field. it is extremely well used and valued within the community as an area for play and for families to convene.

The current play area has not been updated ( aside from routine maintenance and repairs) since its installation 20 years ago. Some equipment has had to be removed due to safety concerns and the equipment deterioration has been the source of increased criticism in the community. At the moment there are limited play opportunities for those with disabilities, particularly those with mobility impairment.
