Description

The Authority is conducting an Open Procedure to look for a Contractor or Contractors to deliver an Animal Health and Welfare Project to improve farm productivity in England. This is set out in two distinct lots of work:

• Lot 2 Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea virus (PEDv) in the English pig herd - to achieve the continued absence of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea virus (PEDv) in the English pig herd. The duration of this contract will be for 18 months.

The Contractor(s) will be required to work with qualified vets to ensure that a consistent disease control message is relayed to all participants. The Contractor(s) will hold initial training meetings to establish clusters of livestock keepers. Each cluster will be led by a vet who will provide advice to farmers in the form of an advice report written following an on farm advice visit.

For PEDv, a vet will provide advice to farmers in a written report following a farm visit to complete a Pig Premises External Biosecurity Audit (Annex 8)
