Description

Stockton has been commissioning a home improvement contract for a number of years. Despite financial challenges within the Council the decision has been taken to re commission these services.

The aim of the contract is to provide an integrated housing support service, by providing a single point of contact and seamless co-ordination of services. This will enable those in need of support to maintain their independence, health and well-being in their chosen home for as long as possible. This may include older people, people on low incomes, disabled people and other groups determined by local circumstances.

Helping people stay at home will be achieved by assisting Service Users through the repair, adaptation or home improvement process. The contract will include the direct provision of repair and maintenance services where appropriate, preventative initiatives and providing advice on accessing appropriate grants and benefits, including, private finance.
