Description

Worthing Borough Council are looking for Contractors to provide a service for the Reactive and Planned maintenance works of the coast defence structures within Worthing.
The works to include: Minor and Major repair works to Timber Groynes; Replacing dislodged Rocks to Revetments & Groynes; Minor & Major repair works to Boat Launching Ramps; Installing/Removing Demountable barriers (Storm board) from Splash Wall Openings; Maintaining the Shingle beach, through grading, shingle recycling or on rare occasions shingle replenishment; Clearing of shingle off of the boat launching ramps; Seaweed Clearance works (on rare occasions); Emergency Maintenance following storm damage; Provide and maintain an a minimum quantity of materials for undertaking the maintenance works.
The Coastal Protection works will be undertaken in a variety of places from Sea Lane, Ferring to Western Road, Worthing, with the possibility of undertaking additional works within the Adur District Council frontage.
The service period is for an initial period of two years, 1st April 2022 to 31st March 2024. The service period may be extended on a yearly basis for up to a maximum of two years ending on the 31st March 2026. The Council has an annual budget of circa £150k for this service.
