Description
The IAG service will provide accurate and impartial information, advice and guidance to help prisoners make decisions on their journey through their sentence. It will provide guidance on the learning, training and work opportunities available whilst in custody and upon release. The key outcomes of the service are expected to reduce reoffending by:
- Supply a service which is confidential to the individual, and which meets the highest standards of equality of opportunity.
- Alignment of prisoners PLP (Personal Learning Plan) & individual learning whilst in custody.
- Supporting and advocating basic English and Mathematics development.
- Provide accurate and impartial information, advice and guidance to both prisoners and potential employers about the education courses, qualifications and training services provided within the Prison.
- Provide a service that conforms to the standards laid down by Matrix. Staff will be qualified to at least a level 3 award in careers information, advice and guidance.
- Transferring individuals to the through the gate National Careers Service in community to ensure continuity of service on release and to support their progression into learning and employment
- Providing continuity of Service Inspiration, Employer Engagement activity for prisoners whilst in custody and on release to aid their progression opportunities
- Suppliers will be expected to use digital platforms to enhance the learner's experience, i.e. use of the Virtual Campus, Passport 2 Employment, Gov.uk.
- Suppliers will also be expected to work closely with other services and agencies including DWP Work Coach, CFO3 providers, New Futures Network Employment Brokers, CRC's etc.
- Suppliers will need to be able to offer a bespoke service aligned with the needs according to the role of each of the prisons.
