Description
The Fund are looking to appoint the appropriate supplier (an individual organisation or a partnership with a lead supplier) who will support in ensuring we approach this work responsibly, fostering an ethos of collective leadership and respecting the values, principles and work of the communities and groups we are funding, and that of the wider climate movement.
The points listed below are not meant as an exhaustive list of expectations and services required but it is intended that the supplier would need to provide both strategic guidance, expertise and ideas in social movements and systems thinking as well as designing and delivering outputs based on the services required. They would also have the resources, or access to them, to work with grant-holders and their wider partners and provide any necessary support or training distinct to this focus area.
We recognise that whilst much of our funding will support the service delivery of projects it will be crucial that space and time is protected to better equip projects in some more back-office functions (such as the development of influencing skills via social media, and media training) and that we acknowledge and protect the wellbeing of individuals who are leading the charge. Working to a commitment of 'learning out loud' it is expected that the supplier will share this mindset from the start, sharing learning as we go.
The services we are initially interested in (and consequently the skillsets, expertise of the supplier) are as follows, however, please note that we are also looking for bidders to provide suggestions and creativity, based on their own experiences, as to how best to deliver this work:
1. Movement ecology and movement building practice
2. Systems thinker
3. Public engagement and influencing expertise
4. Narrative and culture practice
5. Scanning, listening and sense making
6. Network mapping
7. Strategic communications
