The event is for the Plant Health Service to engage with potential forestry contractors for an upcoming requirement for Plant Health related work. This work will include: forest surveying to support pest free area conifer roundwood exports, protected zone billet trap set up and monitoring and port pheromone bark beetle trapping work. This requirement will compliment other work that helps support the protection of Scotland's forests and woodlands from pests and diseases. For the main areas of activity the requirement area will be Argyll and Bute and Highland, but will also include, to a lesser extent, the following local government districts: North and South Ayrshire, Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire, Stirling, Perth and Kinross.
The value of the work will be in the region of £24,000 per year, potentially over a 5 year period. If you have experience of contract forestry surveying or other relevant experience and are interested in this type of work then please come along to the event, where more details of the type and extent of work involved will be discussed.
