Description

Hampshire County Council (HCC) is seeking an academic provider to design and implement a mixed methodology theory-based evaluation of a complex Public Health intervention: a preventative Universal Family Behaviour Change programme (UFBC).

The pilot programme has been commissioned to support families with children aged 2-12 to make sustainable changes to their behaviours, lifestyles, and home environments, with the aim of promoting healthy weight. The programme will be delivered by an external provider and embedded within community settings across Hampshire and will actively connect families to local assets that support them to make and sustain behaviour change.

HCC Public Health is particularly interested in the acceptability of the service to families in Hampshire, the effectiveness of small-stepped or progressive engagement, how successfully it is embedded in the wider system, and how behaviour change related to healthy weight happens and is maintained within family systems.

The objectives of this market engagement is to seek what interest and options there may be amongst academic institutions interested in the evaluation of pilot Public Health programmes in Hampshire.

Specifically, we need to:

Identify level of interest.
Gain feedback to inform our proposed evaluation.
Understand what options are available for delivery.

A draft specification is available to view and a questionnaire to complete and return via the e-procurement portal In-Tend (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/hampshire/aspx/Home) for the project: AS24539 Universal Family Behaviour Change - Academic Evaluation using the correspondence function

Participation in this consultation will not include or exclude any organisation from participating in any future procurement exercise.
