Description

The Contract is to provide a Public Health Funeral Service for the whole of the Mid Sussex District.

The contract will cover all necessary arrangements required to provide a public health funeral when anyone within the district passes away outside of a hospital and there is no one else willing or able to pay to enable the Council to carry out its statutory duty under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984. The Contractor will be responsible upon instruction for the collection of the deceased's body from either the Coronary's court or from another identified location within the Mid Sussex District and for arranging the funeral, providing a suitable coffin, vehicle and adequate staff on the day of the funeral. All deceased bodies will be cremated unless otherwise instructed by Mid Sussex District council
