Description
The Environment Agency has the power to retain seized vehicles under the Control of Waste (Dealing with Seized Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015 and Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975. These provisions allow an authorised Environment Agency officer to seize a vehicle and its contents.
We are seeking a contractor to provide recovery, secure storage and disposal services. We are looking for a single contractor to provide a managed service across England which will give us a single point of contact in respect of seized property, mainly vehicles, in accordance with current legislation. Most seizures occur in the presence of the Police.
A short term pilot contract is currently in place for this requirement and we are seeking to re-tender a replacement arrangement when this contract expires in January 2019. Further information on this requirement is available from our e-tendering portal.
In the first instance, we would like to gauge the market's level of interest in our requirement and we are also planning to conduct an engagement phase with interested suppliers during the month of June 2018. We are planning to publish our tender documentation from late July 2018, with contract award from late October 2018.
If your organisation is interested in bidding for this requirement and participating in an engagement phone call, please register your interest on our e-tendering portal by 5pm on 8 June 2018. The web address for this portal is detailed below.
