Description

Cefas requires a compact bench top 96 well fluorometer which has the capability to also be used as a 96 well spectrophotometer.

The system is required to be a reliable and highly accurate 96 well fluorometer and spectrophotometer that can quantify nucleic acids (both DNA and RNA) using these two methods.

The system should have the following features:

1. be able to function not only as a 96 well fluorometer but also have the capability to act as a 96 well spectrophotometer when required.
a. it must have the ability to measure UV absorbance at 260/280nm and at 260/230nm.
2. have very low crosstalk (7x or less) between wells for accurate quantification. This is vital because of the downstream processes it will be used for, namely quantification of libraries for both second and third generation sequencing technologies, which require very accurate amounts of DNA to be added to these systems.
3. be compatible with the Maxwell® RSC Instrument allowing quantification of nucleic acids extracted by this system.
4. be compact and suitable for bench top use.
5. have a fast read speed, ideally no more than 3-5 minutes.
6. have an integrated tablet PC along with a user-friendly intuitive software.
7. be compatible with standard UK power supply.
8. have the option for a comprehensive service agreement and preventative maintenance visits.
