Description

This procurement is for the design, manufacture and installation of shielded doors in the 5th and 6th line of Research Rooms in the Materials Research Facility (MRF). There will be a total of 10 Research Room shielded doors (8 standard sized and 2 larger).
The MRF Research Rooms are rooms that will house scientific equipment that will allow material analysis. This will be done with material samples with a maximum activity of 3.75 GBq (based upon Co60). The research rooms will therefore provide shielding, HVAC control and radiation control systems to each room independently.

The scope of this tender is design, manufacturer, install and commission the 10 shielded doors, including
• drive mechanisms,
• control systems and interlocks,
• access grates to allow sample trolleys to enter the room
• protective barriers / cages around doors in open position
