Description

The purpose of the Service being commissioned is to provide crisis and permanent accommodation for customers who are owed a housing duty (Prevention, Relief, Temporary Accommodation and Main Duty) by the Council.
Crisis accommodation shall be available as temporary accommodation and accessible 24/7, 365 days in the year. Permanent accommodation shall be used to enable throughput from crisis provision but also available as direct access accommodation where agreed on an individual case basis.
The council is keen to consider models of provision that make use of contemporary best practice to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and facilitate rapid move on to a sustainable outcome, which may range from permanent accommodation to a planned move into supported accommodation. This will ensure that all clients can access this service and end reliance on B&B placements. Building and using effective partnerships with other providers in the sector will be essential to the successful delivery of these outcomes.
