Description

Hull City Council's Major Projects Team is tasked with delivering the large-scale capital projects which will transform Hull into a major visitor destination. This tender concerns the repair, conservation, reinstatement, and new building works to the Grade II listed remains of the (second world war) bombed former cinema on Beverley Road, Hull, the National Picture Theatre. The Council has been successful in its National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Second Round Application for funding to stabilise, restore and preserve the National Picture Theatre site. As such, we are looking to procure a Principal Contractor to carry out the specified works (RIBA stage 4-7) that will restore this important historical building to then enable the site to be opened to the public and for the site's history to be interpreted through displays, activities, and events, so that present and future generations can learn about the experience of civilians in World War 2 (WW2). Full details of the contract requirements are contained within the detailed NEC4 Scope document, and supporting documentation published with the Invitation To Tender. The Authority proposes to enter into one Contract for a period of 32 weeks with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider). The anticipated works commencement date is 19th February 2024 with contract completion by 30th September 2024.
