Description

The Socio-Economic Research team has identified the need for access to social, economic, and demographic data at different geographic levels. The need for this data to be quickly accessible and flexible in its function is also of high importance. Much of the research undertaken by this team involves data at unique spatial units, and a bespoke data platform facilitates in-depth and robust research.

Research for the Culture and Heritage Capital Programme often involves the use of spatial data. The 'Travel Cost Tool' project is an example, where summary data for the geographic areas surrounding historic sites could offer valuable context.

OCSI's Local Insight tool is a bespoke data collection and visualisation service that allows the user to generate and download reports, summaries, and data for specific geographic regions. The purchase of £10,000 (excluding VAT) covers organisational access across Historic England for the duration of one year. It allows for unlimited users and the opportunity for training on the platform.
