Description

SCDC is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to undertake a Renewables Project to determine the benefits, costs and associated issues involved in the use of renewables for heating and cooling domestic residential properties.

This contract is a works contract to install specific renewables technology, with study related services to monitor and measure the results of the installed technology to understand the impact on that technology and any benefits/dis-benefits to SCDC and our residents.

In addition, guidance will be needed for the, our residents on reducing carbon emissions whilst using their heating and ventilation equipment.

This will be a 12-month contract to look at and draw on experience/knowledge of this field from a number of industry and public sources to compare results from our samples to establish if the patterns are represented across a larger number of installations.

A suitable study methodology will need to be utilised that aims to target a number of our properties (4) to assess the performance of a range of technologies (renewable) along with monitoring and measuring the results and then comparing these with other organisations.

The organisation carrying out the study will need to either undertake or appoint a suitable company to undertake the actual work on the properties. SCDC will need the successful contractor to undertake this work on the basis of open book accounting with full transparency of the costs.

There needs to be comprehensive monitoring and assessment of the technologies along with an understanding of whether the installation has led to a genuine improvement in carbon emissions and whether it has reduced the costs to the resident.

The outputs will include modelling future costs, return on investment analysis/whole life costs, carbon impact and resident impact.

As part of the study will involve details from our residents the successful organisation will need to have robust plans in place to protect information about our residents.
