Description
Daventry District Council is looking to resurface the car park of the Daventry & District Sport Trust. The car park area, extending between Daventry Bowling club on the West end of the car park and Reach for Health (a new building project) on the East end, is an area of circa 5,200M2 and will provide adequate parking for users of all facilities located on site.
The site is located at Daventry & District Sport Trust, off Western Avenue, Daventry, NN11 4ST.
The car park area is currently laid to a combination of hard standing, loose stone and to the East end some soil.
The scope of work for this tender will be the installation of an attenuation crate system to allow collection of storm water from the roof of the new Reach for Health building, the provision of perforated pipe drainage in the car park, which together with the outlet from the crate attenuation system will pass through a shared hydro-brake into drainage pipework with outfall into the drainage ditch on Western Avenue. The hydro-brake will allow control of water release to achieve the permissible discharge rates.
The car park, with exception to the athletics track emergency vehicle route, will be laid to a geo-grid system infilled with stone. The car park structure is sufficiently strong to carry the loads of delivery lorries, refuse collection vehicles and emergency vehicles. The car park is designed as in accordance with sustainable drainage principles. The emergency vehicle route to the athletics track will be laid to highway standards non-porous tarmac.
The scope also includes car parking demarcation, including disabled bays outside the Reach for Health building, installing conduit for electrical cabling to street lighting and formation of concrete bases for street lamps to be affixed to.
Planning consent has been achieved and scheme details are viewable on Daventry District Council's website in planning application DA/2018/066, including the installation of luminary street lighting. Whilst installation of conduit to accommodate luminary wiring and installation of concrete pads to allow lamppost erection is included within the scope of these tender, the luminaries themselves are to be provided by others and are therefore not in the scope of this tender's works.
