Justification

Sodium chloride 0.9 % for injection is required urgently to support the deployment of some covid-19 vaccines. The Covid-19 pandemic and identification of new variants requires continuous review and changes to vaccination programme, and recent events have not provided the authority with sufficient time to comply with the standard Open Procedure time scales for this procurement. Accordingly, the authority is using the accelerated time limits for the open procedure permitted under the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (Regulation 27(5)) to conduct this procurement.
