Description

1.2. The requirement is summarised below:-

The Supplier will sell advertising space for the below print projects, with expected minimum page availabilities in parentheses:

• BBC Symphony Orchestra (8pp + 2pp covers), BBC Philharmonic (8pp + 3pp covers), BBC Singers (8pp + 2 covers), BBC Concert Orchestra (8pp + 3 covers) and BBC National Orchestra of Wales (8pp + 2pp covers) concert season programmes
• BBC Proms Guide (49pp + 2 covers)
• BBC Proms Programmes (advertising shell common to all programmes 48pp + 2 covers; per-concert adverts up to 5pp per concert)
• BBC Proms in the Park programmes (8pp + 3 covers)

Programmes are distributed at concert venues including the Barbican, Bridgwater
Hall, Hoddinott Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall and Hyde Park; the Proms
Guide is sold through major retailers including WH Smith, Waterstones and Amazon.

The print run for the Proms Guide is currently 55,000 copies. Print runs for the Proms
and Orchestras and Choirs programmes vary for each concert but an average print
run for a Proms programme is 1,300 copies (there are 75 concerts in 2017); the
Symphony Orchestra distributes between approximately 450 and 1,100 programmes
per concert (there are 28 concerts in 2016-17).

The Supplier will also adapt to the changing business model in the area of digital
publications, selling in advertising space across digital formats and platforms as
agreed with the BBC. The Supplier should be prepared for these ambitions to increase
year on year and have the necessary resources in place to respond.

The BBC will also offer two (2) tickets to the Last Night of the Proms to all suppliers
purchase a full page in the Proms Guide or in the ad shell of the Proms Programmes.
This is limited to two (2) tickets per organisation, regardless of how many pages they
take.
