Description

Living England maps broad habitat classes to a modified version of the UK BAP broad habitat classification framework, due to difficulties in assessing all habitats at this resolution using satellite imagery captured at 10m spatial resolution. The aim of this request to provide a spectrometer from which to assess spectral values from a range of habitats to compare and assess Sentinel-2 against. This will aid and improve the ability to identify habitats across England from S2 data from varying times, locations and phenological phases.

This project will require:
• Quotation and provision of a suitable spectroradiometer to align with the wavelengths of S2 data (spectral range ~440-2200nm).
• A portable, robust field spectroradiometer.
• Instrument to be used in the lab and field. Shall be used for collection of reflectance and radiance radiometric measurements (using solar illumination).
• Training in best use of the equipment.
