Description

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the Council) is seeking to source a suitably licensed contractor to deliver the Service which is composed of the collection, keeping, and recycling of Mixed Glass (Recyclable Waste) from the Council's Collection Point. The contract is required to start approximately 1st April 2021 and will run for a fixed period of two years until 31st March 2023 with the option to extend for a further one year period. The Contractor will collect the Recyclable Waste from the Council for a fixed rate per tonne which will track the published market rate each month.

The Contractor will be responsible for the collection, keeping and recycling of approximately 600 to 800 tonnes per month (7200 to 9600 per annum) of Recyclable Waste in line with current methods and regulations. The Recyclable Waste will be collected in loose piles from the Collection Point by the Contractor.

Bidders should note that there is some contamination associated with the Recyclable Waste as we are not able to remove some elements of paper, organics or moisture etc. associated with comingled collections. Contamination has been analysed and proven to be in the region of up to 30% to 40%. Bidders must take this level into account when submitting their bid as they will be responsible for the processing and disposal of any contamination that can't be recycled.
